From August 25th to 29th
The Expo Brazil is a week that celebrates the Brazilian Independence and promotes the Brazilian culture, tourism, and business in New York City through a series of activities.
In 2014, under the theme “Women with Power”, the event will honor and highlight the achievements of women who have made a difference in the Brazilian history and society.
The event will hold a photo exhibition called “Women with Power”, displaying the biography and achievements of significant women to Brazil’s past and present.
The show will be opened to the public from August 26th to 29th, from 11am to 9pm, at the HSA Gallery, located at 4 West 43rd Street, New York City 10036.

Visitors will enjoy a display of the ritual Candomblé dresses, a panel discussion about the book that gave name to the show, from the author Marcos Rezende, and a photo exhibition by Uran Rodrigues.
The event will be opened to the public August 27th, 29th and 30th, from 1pm to 8pm, at the New York State Office Building, located at 163 West 125th Street, 2nd floor, New York City 10027.
The Expo Brazil will also hold a fashion show from the designer Simone Rodrigues, a documentary screening about the Forró musician Luiz Gonzaga, “Gonzaga - De Pai Para Filho”, a lecture about tourism and the impact of the World Cup 2014, and music and dance performances from several artists direct from Brazil.
